‘life goes on’ sings johhny from the bar.
I guess it does, sometimes to far
along the wrong road - too fast to jump free.
I should really have seen what was coming to me.

a distance slipped between us.
suspicion replaced respect and trust.
a four party plan merged into three.

but will latent hypocrisy and blatent lies
prop up the pyramid’s vacant fourth side?
